What’s your Sims’ style? Racing? Intrigue? Rockabilly? Classic Luxury? Maybe Mom goes for Racing, complete with a living room wall display of custom rims, a set of Tuff Gruff Tools in the garage, and a Velocity racer from Simota Motor Sports in the garage. When she isn’t working on her car, a sporty blazer and a nice pair of slacks are perfect for taking a stroll through downtown Sunset Valley with her family.

The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff

Dad, though, prefers Classic Luxury: a Wynndale Estate sofa for relaxing, a Tick Tock Stock ticker tape machine for keeping up with his investments the old-fashioned way, and a classic convertible in the driveway for those times when he likes to take a Sunday drive to Divisadero Budget Books. His wild side shows in the knit shirt — complete with flames racing up either side of the buttons — that he pulls out for days off.

Meanwhile, their neighbors opt for Intrigue, as anyone can tell from seeing the La Matea car parked out front. Not only does the La Matea sport high-shine wheel rims and 360-degree driver-side air conditioning, but it even includes a passenger-side DVD player for those times when gazing at the scenery just isn’t enough.

And down the street, a vintage Pump It Up Gas Pump tips off passersby that lovers of the Rockabilly style live there. It may not be a working gas pump, but sitting next to a Heartbreak Hot Rod in the driveway, it offers just the right touch of whimsy. The last party at the house featured a classic Left at the Turnpike bar (with Right at the Turnpike barstools, of course), Boogie Lights, and a blinking Va-Va-Vroom! neon sign. We heard everyone had a blast.

So Much Stuff

We’ve just scratched the surface of the car-inspired styles waiting for your Sims in Fast Lane Stuff, so click on Buy mode and start flipping through the catalog. All of the newly-added items, including clothes and accessories, have a special icon next to them, so you’ll be able to easily see which ones you should take a closer look at.

When you create new Sims, you’ll be able to choose the new Vehicle Enthusiast trait, which is perfect for Sims, like that aforementioned Mom, who want special relationships with their cars. They appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into building a fine ride, and they’ll enjoy using Fast Lane Stuff’s new workshop gear, including the Auto Analysts Tools and Tricks and the Vehicle Depot Bench.

If your Sims are strapped for cash and don’t know how they’ll afford all this great new stuff, here’s a handy tip: our Sims 3: World Adventures article features a rundown of cheat codes, including a pair that will replenish your Sims’ Simoleons supply in a flash.
